ATTENTION TO STUDENTS WHO WILL START EDUCATION BY USING THE AMNESTY LAW NO. 7417!

Application Conditions:

With Article 35 of the Law No. 7417, which came into force after being published in the Official Gazette dated 5 July 2022 and numbered 31887, pursuant to the provisional article 83 added to the Law No. 2547, from the students who received preparatory, undergraduate and graduate (including scientific preparation) education at Izmir Institute of Technology before 5 July 2022,

  • Those who have been dismissed for any reason, (for terrorism and deliberate killing (articles 81, 82 and 83), torture (articles 94 and 95), torture (article 96), sexual assault (article 102)), Those convicted of sexual abuse (article 103), manufacture and trade of drugs or stimulants (article 188) Those whose registration was cancelled due to forged documents, those who gave false documents during registration, and the crimes written in Article 71 of the Law on Intellectual and Artistic Works dated 5/12/1951 and numbered 5846, and terrorist organizations or the structure, formation, which was decided by the National Security Council to act against the national security of the State. or groups, except those who have been dismissed due to membership, affiliation or affiliation with them,)
  • Those who do not register even though they have won a program,

 

They can apply to the Registrar’s Office until the end of the working day on November 7, 2022 to start their education in person or through the person authorized by the notary public. Important notes:

  • Postponement of military service for those who have started their education is made in accordance with the principles and procedures in Article 20 of the Law No. 7179 on the Military Recruitment dated 25 June 2019. Those who are doing their military service on the date of entry into force of this article can apply within 2 months following their discharge.
  • Those who could not apply due to force majeure within the application period, within one month from the date when the force majeure disappeared, those who cannot apply for health reasons can benefit from this law if they submit the relevant committee report until the end of the working day of 05/12/2022.
  • Students who are currently enrolled in a formal undergraduate program, who apply to a formal program at the same level as the program they are enrolled in, within the framework of the decision of the Higher Education Council that they cannot continue their education in another formal program at the same level at the same time, provided that they cancel their registration from the formal higher education program they are still attending. They can enrol in the program that they have registered or earned the right to enrol in before.
  • Students who have been dismissed from the double major program due to their dismissal from the major undergraduate program will not be able to re-register to the double major program.
  • Considering that students who are currently enrolled in a postgraduate program, excluding non-thesis master’s degree, can only be registered in one postgraduate program in accordance with the provisions of the Postgraduate Education Regulation, Students in this situation can enroll in the postgraduate program they were previously registered or have the right to enroll in, provided that they cancel their registration in the postgraduate program, except for the non-thesis master’s degree they are currently attending.
  • Those who have the right to return to more than one higher education institution before the publication of the said law do not have the right to enroll in one of them.

Note 1: The registration of the students whose documents are complete will be carried out by the Registrar’s Office without the need for any other procedure.
